About me

I’m a highly experienced writer and editor. I work with print and digital content, and specialise in presenting complex information in a clear and engaging way.

My subject expertise includes higher education, student & young adult, and personal finance / financial wellness. I also have significant experience of parenting (early years), plus health & wellbeing content.

After working in London for many years, I now live in Cumbria in the north west of England. I work remotely with clients around the UK.

I’ve also been:

  • Editor of The Push Guide to Which University (print book series – higher education)
  • Editor & social media manager, FitPro Ltd. (print magazine titles – fitness: membership, consumer and b2b audiences).

Personal & professional interests

I’m an advanced driver (IAM Roadsmart, 2018) and, as a result, am increasingly interested in road safety and better driving.

I completed the Introduction to Counselling Skills certificate at UEL a few years ago, and have been trained in listening skills (Samaritans). I practice mindfulness & meditation, and am interested in writing about and supporting mental wellbeing. I sit on the Board of Trustees for Carlisle Eden Mind, and regularly attend the Border TV (ITV) diversity panel.

I play several musical instruments, take photos of buildings and architecture, and am learning German (currently around A2 level).

My most recent professional training includes narrative and long form writing, as well as data journalism.
